The First Breath. The Last Breath. Every Breath In Between.

The very first thing we do when we enter this world is breathe.
Before we ever speak.
Before we ever laugh.
Before we ever cry.
We take a breath.
And from that moment on, our breath quietly accompanies us through every season of life.
It is there through moments of joy and celebration.
Through grief and heartache.
Through excitement, uncertainty, love, fear, growth and change.
Every ordinary day.
Every extraordinary one.
Our breath faithfully continues, moment after moment, without asking anything of us.
Most of the time, we don't even notice it.
It simply does what it was beautifully designed to do—keeping us alive.
Yet our breath is extraordinary because it is one of the few things our body does automatically while also allowing us to gently bring it into our awareness.
It quietly reflects our inner world.
When we feel peaceful, our breath often slows and softens.
When life feels overwhelming, it may become shallow, quick or held altogether.
Not because we're doing anything wrong.
Simply because our nervous system is doing exactly what it was designed to do: helping us survive.
And perhaps that's why our breath offers such a gentle invitation.
Not to fix ourselves.
Not to breathe perfectly.
Not to become someone different.
But simply...
...to notice.
To pause for a moment amidst the busyness of life.
To become curious about what is already there.
Sometimes, awareness is where everything begins.
One gentle breath can remind us that we are here.
That we are alive.
That beneath all the noise, there is a quiet rhythm that has never left us.
Today, before you move on to the next thing, I invite you to pause.
You don't need to change your breath.
You don't need to force anything.
Simply notice it.
It has been with you since your very first moment.
And it remains with you now.
🎥 I've also created a short video reflection to accompany these thoughts. If you'd prefer to watch rather than read, I'd love to invite you to spend a quiet moment with me.

🌿 Gentle Invitation
Before you continue with your day, pause for just one breath.
Not to change it.
Simply to notice it.
Sometimes the smallest moments become the ones that stay with us.
🙏 Thank you for sharing this moment with me. 🙏
I hope wherever you are today, you find just one conscious breath that reminds you of the incredible wisdom your body already holds.
With love, light and wholeness,
Alana 🌿
